Making Magic
Tiny Explosions goes for the PG-rating
Romance... as imagined by two kids who have no clue what it is.
The final chapter in romance novel goes through a desperate and bizarre revision moments before it is set to be published.
In December 2023, Tiny Explosions decided to make a film in hopes of completing it before the submission deadline for a new film festival closed. Unfortunately we did not make that deadline, but that misfortune gave us months to polish the project and get all the edits right. Now all that's left is for Making Magic to make its festival premiere, hopefully in the Fall.

Making Magic is thoroughly a Tiny Explosions production; however, during the brainstorming stage of the project the idea of using a title from one of my mom's novels came up. Obviously I loved the idea. Linda Boberg, aka Adelyn Zara, was a massive supporter of all things creative that I did. So it seems right memorializing her creative works by sneaking them into my own. Thus, Making Magic is more than a Tiny Explosions film, it something much more personal.
While Making Magic borrows its title and character names from my mother's second novel, that is where the similarities end. Nothing in our film's story or plot comes from her book. Even though she's passed, there's still a chance Making Magic audiences can become Adelyn Zara readers will discover who she was. I'm not certain if I mentioned we could integrate my mom's books or if someone else did, but however we got there I am grateful. Love you, Mom.
